I know I never get on tumblr anymore, but I’m graduating from college today and I’m feeling a bit nostalgic.
At a time when I was incredibly lonely and didn’t think I was worth anything, I joined tumblr my freshman year of college and met some amazing people. People who helped me change my entire outlook on my life and who were there for me, offered friendly advice, laughed with me, fangirled with me, stood by during difficult times, and celebrated with me through the amazing times.
Now don’t get me wrong, my friends were/are totally great and have always been there for me as well, but there’s something different about people you meet online. I feel like I could share more because I was behind a keyboard and I knew you couldn’t look me in the eye and judge me - even if you were just staring at my post and judging me, you couldn’t see me.
So I just want to say “thank you”. Thank you to everyone I’ve met on here and even those I didn’t meet because you all helped me become the person I am today. I don’t know if that’s stupid to say or not because it’s just a website, but I don’t care.
I also want to give a huge thank you to Taylor. I know we don’t talk anymore and I’m not sure if you’ll even see this honestly, but you completely changed my life. You helped me more than you will ever know and more than I could ever explain to you. We’ve never met in person, but just knowing that there was someone out there who genuinely cared for me on some level who had no reason to care other than because you are an amazing person is something that I will always keep with me. When we met, I was at such a low point in my life, but you helped me get through so many things, whether you realize it or not. You made me a better person and for that I will be forever thankful. You are such an amazing woman and I hope you know that and I hope that everything is falling into place for you because you deserve it more than anyone I know.
